Early Christmas present for Wader Quest

This week we received an amazing early Christmas present from the Gay Birders’s Club (GBC) – a donation of an incredible £500.

The Gay Birders’ Club has been a club sponsor of Wader Quest, and a great supporter for four years. Not only are they Wader Quest club sponsors, but they also encourage their members to join us as individual Friends of Wader Quest too, for which we are most appreciative.

In those four years the GBC have made several generous donations and have done so again now. Obviously as a small charity every donation is of great value to us but donations of this value are rare, as rare as Spoon-billed Sandpiper’s‘ teeth in fact, and so we are always overwhelmed and humbled by the club’s genrosity and faith in us and what we do.

If you are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender and you enjoy birdwatching, why not find out more about the Gay Birders’ Club by exploring their web site.

The main purpose of the Club is to bring LGBT+ birdwatchers together. This is done through the events held throughout the year. Since 1998 there have been around 100 events each year. These range from day events, evening walks, weekend events at birdwatching locations and extended GBC holidays to international destinations such as Nepal, California, India, the Gambia, Costa Rica and Australia.

Once again we would like to thank the Gay Birders’ Club, its offcials, committee and all its members for their unswerving support for Wader Quest.
