Since Rick and Elis can’t be in two places at once, Phil and Gail Pickett have volunteered to take charge of the Wader Quest Stand at the Wirral Wader Festival to be held at RSPB Burton Mere Wetland on Saturday the 31st August and Sunday the 1st of September.
For this weekend the RSPB entry fee is being waived so it is a free event for everyone as always. It is your chance to get your Wader Quest goodies such as the four new pin badges and the new earrings, plus, get in early with next year’s calendar.
This event is jointly run by the Dee Estuary Voluntary Wardens, Cheshire Wildlife Trust, the RSPB, Wader Quest and Wirral Council. Marquee by Muddy Boots.
Elis and Rick will be heading for Sweden for the 10th annual Falsterbo Bird Show. It promises to be a great show again this year. However good the event is, it is always enlivened by the overflying migrants, principally raptors, that come over in good numbers (depending on the weather conditions).
