Attagis – Greek; attagis (attagis or attagen frankolin) (Saint-Hilaire and Lesson 1831).
Thinocorus – Greek: this, thinos sand, beach desert; Modern Latin: corys lark (korudos lark) (Eschscholtz 1829).

    South America; Rufous-bellied, White-bellied, Grey-breasted and Least Seedsnipe.
