The 8th to the 10th of October is Global Bird Weekend and on the 9th is Global Big Day. Each year teams and individuals go out birding and report their sightings to eBird. This year, since the idea is to raise money for bird conservation, and this year’s issue is the world’s wetlands, we decided we would like to take part and have entered Team Wader Quest.
On this occasion it is not just waders we are going to look for, but all types of birds and we would like to invite anyone who would like to join Team Wader Quest on the day to let us know. We have people from South Africa, Mozambique, Brazil, Reunion Island, Anguila and the UK already signed up, so it matters not where you are in the world. Help us build a great

diversity of species by recording your days sightings on eBird and sharing them with the Wader Quest Team.
If you do not wish to take part or cannot do so, or prefer to do so as an individual, then maybe you’d like to help us raise some funds for the BirdLife wetlands appeal by going to our JustGiving page and make a small donation to help us on our way.
Global Bird Weekend is organised by Tim Appleton MBE and Penny Robinson, founders of Global Birding, who are also patrons of Wader Quest.
